education Leadership Consulting.

DO BETTER BY DESIGN.

Leaders in education care deeply about the students they serve.

But leadership inside education systems often pulls their energy away from the work that matters most.

Instead of focusing on students, leaders often find themselves managing misalignment, bureaucracy, personalities, politics, and systems that were never designed to support the people doing the work.

So the work stalls.

Not because people don’t care.

But because the foundation underneath the work can’t hold it.

And when leaders are spending all their energy navigating dysfunction, there’s very little left to give to students.

Through my education leadership consulting,I work with institutions to identify and remove the barriers that prevent leaders from doing their best work supporting students.

YOU'VE TRIED TO FIX IT.

New initiatives
Reorganizations
Strategic plans

Consultants
New leadership roles
More meetings

And still the work doesn’t move the way it should.

Because when the root issue is structural misalignment, surface fixes rarely move the work forward.

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS.

What I love most is helping institutions get underneath the work. Leaders are committed. People care deeply. But many still find themselves in the cycle of start–stop, stop–start, wondering why all the effort isn’t moving the institution forward.

In my experience, the issue is almost never intention. It’s the foundation underneath the work.

Think of it like a house. When you’re considering a home, you don’t start with the finishes, you check the foundation.

Are there cracks?
Is anything sloping?
Are the substructures aligned?

If the foundation can’t hold, everything built on top of it will show strain.

Institutions are the same.

The signs show up in culture, leadership, decisions, results, and impact. But the source is always underneath.

My work is helping institutions see what’s happening at the foundation, strengthen the conditions that make the work possible, and move as a unified leadership body.

When the foundation is strong, the work moves.

People move.

The institution moves.

HOW THIS WORK HAPPENS.

This work typically unfolds across three areas

Institutional Conditions & System Assessment

Surfacing the foundational conditions that shape how the work moves, how leadership functions together, and how outcomes align

with culture, strategy, and mission.

We identify the systemic conditions that shape how the work moves:

  • Misalignment across culture, strategy, and execution

  • Forces driving start–stop cycles and stalled momentum

  • Conditions limiting coherence, decisions, and collective leadership

This clarity reveals what the institution can truly support  and what must be strengthened for the work to advance and hold.

Leadership Alignment &
Strategic Clarity

Strengthening the leadership layer so decisions, priorities, and communication move together, creating clarity and momentum across the institution..

We strengthen the leadership layer so the work can move together:

  • Clarity and direction across departments and roles

  • Decision-making that aligns priorities and movement

  • Operating rhythms that reduce reactivity, swirl, and duplication

When leadership aligns, the system aligns and the work finally moves forward together.

Culture, Equity and
Mission in Practice

Designing culture as a lived experience where equity is embedded, people feel seen and supported, and mission shows up in everyday decisions and results.

We design culture as a lived experience that advances mission:

  • Identity-affirming belonging conditions thas strengthen culture

  • Equity embedded in structures that shape outcomes

  • Values, policies, and behaviors aligned in practice

This is where culture becomes strategy and where the work becomes sustainable.

WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE.

Much of what I understand about this work comes from doing it inside institutions.

• Leading a college-wide equity transformation that reshaped culture, belonging, and leadership clarity

Designing and implementing
a network-wide strategy advancing readiness, belonging, and persistence

• Building leaders internally through clarity, safety, coaching, and stretch opportunities

• Redesigning structures, workflows, and decision pathways that created coherence and movement

Each example reflects what becomes possible when the foundation is strong and leadership moves together.

MY APPROACH.

Human-centered

People move the work and people need clarity, safety, and alignment to lead.

Systems-driven

I focus on the structures, culture, and strategy that allow institutions to function coherently.

Equity-embedded

Equity isn’t an add-on or workshop. It’s the way the system operates.

WHO I SERVE.

I partner with leaders responsible for shaping institutions and the people within them.

University presidents and vice presidents
 College deans and senior leaders
 School system executives

Nonprofit and mission-driven CEOs

Foundations and public-sector leadership teams
Institutions navigating culture change or redesigning systems

Many are navigating moments of organizational change, cultural transformation, or system redesign,

especially when the goal is to strengthen belonging, persistence, and student success.

My work is grounded in more than two decades of leadership across K–12 and higher education, helping institutions move from intention to meaningful and sustainable change.

Leadership can be meaningful and powerful work, but it can also be isolating. Many of the leaders I work with are carrying significant responsibility while navigating complex systems and difficult decisions.

Our coaching conversations create space to slow down, think clearly, and move forward with intention. Together we focus on helping you lead in ways that feel aligned, grounded, and sustainable.

Leadership is complex work. These are the ways I partner with leaders and institutions.

HOW I SUPPORT LEADERS.

Executive Coaching

Organizations often reach out when they are navigating moments of change, leadership transitions, culture shifts, or when existing systems are no longer producing the outcomes they want.

I partner with leadership teams to step back, examine what’s happening beneath the surface, and support thoughtful strategies that strengthen both culture and systems.

Institutional Consulting

ROOTS brings together leaders who want space to reflect, connect, and grow alongside others doing meaningful work.

In this cohort, we explore the deeper questions of leadership, how to stay grounded, how to lead with integrity, and how to sustain yourself while carrying significant responsibility.
